“Letters from All Seasons” in Cootehill Library & Arts Centre

Believing in the limitations of the spoken word, I am transforming canvases into a mental pen.
In my paintings I am using my journals to establish an internal monologue.
I am jumping back and forth in time, roving on an open ended journey.
As my philosophy is to put everything simply; I am simply using scenes, smells, faces from my life. All I am doing is taking certain images out of circulation. Painting out my life; painting the letters and words which I have never had the opportunity to write or tell. Each painting is a story which has to be told, but there won’t be any chance to do that.
Painting is a process of manufacturing images and scenes. They are a fragmentary succession of close ups and flashbacks.
Applying too much colour, or working with mass of paint, I am exposing elemental feeling or fording embarrassment and blurring sense of boundaries.

All my works are profoundly personal like the letters which we used to write to very close people or maybe to ourselves. And, like I am saying that some of the paintings are open – ended, which constitutes effect of saving suppressed emotion, all my letters are open, there is no envelope.

“Paintolepsy” in Droichead Arts Centre

Creating canvases laden with emotion and personal feelings is my necessity, obsession and addiction, never insatiable appetite. Believing in instinct over reason, I am realizing my desire for a free life. I am starting over with every painting. The relation between value of colour and texture is my formula of expressing my vision. Some of the paintings are open – ended, which constitutes effects of saving suppressed emotion. Some of the paintings represent the form threatened and squeezed. Most of them required many sittings as the sudden realization or impatient result can be possible only by accumulated understanding of the theme. Using hands to model paint on canvases and boards, I am transferring feelings and reactions in very physical way. My work is becoming my physical and mental landscape; never-ending story. It is my diary and the way to analyzing and discovering subject. Subject derived from my life, my feelings about it, my weakness, and my every-day observations. Locating this on canvas is like substituting myself.

Time and space are inseparable and they can be viewed overall, once again and once again
